The first meeting of the first academic committee of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Bearing Technology and System of Machinery Industry was held in Chongqing
On October 30th, 2020, the first meeting of the first academic committee of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Bearing Technology and System of Machinery Industry was held in Chongqing. The conference was chaired by academician Wanming Zhai, Director of the Laboratory Academic Committee. 16 members were present at the meeting including researcher Yu Zhou, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee (Secretary-General of China Bearing Industry Association), Junhui Huang, Vice Chief Engineer (CRRC), Minggang Du, Chief Researcher (North China Vehicle Research Institute), Prof. Tianmin Shao (Tsinghua University), Dafang Shi, Chief Engineer (Tianma Bearing), Ming Qiu, Vice President (Henan University of Science and Technology), Lintao Liu, Director (China Electric Power), et.al. Besides, Guangxin Feng, Director of the Foundation Department of Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, Kaicheng Wang, Vice President of the Institute of Science and Technology Development of Chongqing University, and Xiaohui Chen, Secretary of the College of Mechanical Engineering of Chongqing University also attended this conference.
Academician Wanming Zhai highly affirmed the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Bearing Technology and System at the meeting. This laboratory is the first key laboratory in the field of intelligent bearings. It deeply integrates with enterprises and explores a new research platform mode. We hope that everyone can give suggestions together to guide the direction of the future construction and development of the laboratory.
Director Guangxin Feng said that intelligent bearing technology is a new research direction, especially the newly established key laboratory of mechanical industry intelligent bearing technology and system research and development of technical results, will play a positive role in the economic development of Chongqing Municipality. Chongqing Municipality will vigorously support the development and construction of the laboratory.
Prof. Xiaohui Chen expressed her appreciation to the committee members for their long-term care, support, and help to the laboratory. She said that the college would fully support the development of the laboratory and strive to achieve good results to serve the development of China's bearing industry.
Researcher Yu Zhou hoped that the laboratory could further refine its direction and positioning, aiming at the application of intelligent bearing technology in the field of national major equipment, and make breakthroughs in its key technologies. He suggested that the laboratory should carry out in-depth research on both intelligence and bearing.
Prof. Tianmin Shao reported to the conference the progress of the laboratory since its establishment nearly one year ago, including research direction, organization and management mechanism, team building, and other aspects.
The academic committee members at the meeting carried out heated discussion and in-depth analysis on the work report and construction development of key laboratories. Members of the committee spoke highly of the achievements of the laboratory in the past year. They believed that the laboratory had a good development momentum in basic research, major projects, and talent team construction, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the direction, orientation, and future development of the laboratory.
Vice President Kaicheng Wang said that scientific and technological innovation is the embodiment of a country's strength and a strong indicator of the university. The university will give strong support to "bottleneck" technology and thanked the committee members for their support.
Finally, Academician Wanming Zhai made a concluding speech, pointing out the distinctive characteristics of the laboratory and affirming the unique place of the laboratory. It is hoped that the laboratory will actively strive for the support of schools, Chongqing Municipality, industry associations, and the country, integrate the resources of bearing industry enterprises, and build the first intelligent bearing technology laboratory in the field of bearing into a domestic first-class and internationally renowned laboratory.
