The first teacher salon symposium

At noon on January 9^th, 2020, the College of Mechanical Engineering held the first teacher salon symposium in 2020 in Conference Room 342. Shilong Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice-president of the school, attended the symposium. by representatives of the leading party and government leadership team, professors and young teachers of the college participate the symposium.

At the meeting, Huajun Cao, vice president of the college, first made a report on the work of "the construction of mechanical engineering disciplines". He analyzed the current situation of mechanical engineering discipline evaluation, the current problems of discipline, and put forward the idea of upgrading mechanical engineering discipline construction and the construction project of advanced manufacturing discipline group.

Shilong Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice-president of the school, participated in the symposium, and he said: The overall development of mechanical engineering disciplines is stable, however, there is still a large gap with Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, and other benchmarks, especially in the high-end talent. In the future, the Institute of Machinery should meet the major needs of the country, refine the subversive and leading discipline direction in the field of advanced manufacturing, form a cutting-edge high-level discipline team, create good scientific research conditions, and  strengthen the introduction of outstanding and young talents.
